What you see in this slideshow are some of the digital works I've created over the years or some of my photos. I love making digital art and photography. I learned the basics of HTTP creation, book formatting, cover art creation, and how to create almost any sign I see that I want. There are even a few things, like maps and news articles that I conjured for my books. I hope you like this view into some of what I've been up to in my spare time outside being an author and during my time as an editor in the Indie publishing field.
ABOUT ME
MY WORK
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
It's simple. My name is Jennifer Oneal Gunn. I am a writer who for over a decade--writing in the open--has had a lot of ups and downs in the publishing industry. One of the shining lights among the shadowy places has been the love of art and creation. This is a place where I am able to show it. I hope you enjoy viewing it. Thanks for coming.
My work is all self-taught, so never think you can't do it or you're too old for something. I didn't start down this path until I was thirty-one. I always had this passion for all things artistic, but since I had some time to kill between agent/publisher stuff, I decided to start teaching myself some new tricks. During which time, I took photos, learned how to alter them and how to do the basic website set-up, and blogging. That used to be a huge thing in 2010. (I had no idea and had to learn a lot.)
Since then, I learned a lot about books, websites, promo, and digital art forms. In 2013, I researched and implemented how to create a lot of business materials for a small company I ran with my two business partners at the time. I also learned how to make cover art. In 2015-2019, I used the formatting, editing, and cover art skills I learned to try and make a little money. I was also writing again, but in a different way. I learned some skills there and made more promo art. This last couple of years, I've gotten back to what I do best: WRITE BOOKS!
If I can't find it, I will create it.
Sometimes, my mind sees things differently than the world does, and that is okay.
Art is interpreted differently by everyone.
